Image overwriting error in Weebly Recently, while uploading an image to Weebly, I discovered something new and wanted to share it. This is a phenomenon in which recently uploaded images overwrite previous images. Fortunately, this does not apply to all images, and when there is a file with the same name by chance, the image with the same name overwrites the existing image as well. Warning! : Weebly’s file storage system is designed to replace an older image when a new one with the same name is uploaded. So if you add an image named “photo.jpg”, then later add a different image also named “photo.jpg”, the newly-added photo.jpg would replace the old one everywhere it’s used on your site. Files are shared amongst all websites in your account, so this would also affect any other websites using that image file. In some cases, you may want to overwrite an older image with an updated version, but be sure to use unique file names for each image to avoid unexpected changes. Below is an example of my site. For example, I previously introduced drawing a blue rose. However, some of these files have been replaced with presentation files that I recently uploaded. Very frustrating. I think it's artificial intelligence in the useless part. I think this is a problem with the Weebly file system. This is because they put all the images in one folder on the server. The same name can only happen by chance. The user can't save and upload images with different names for many years. As a way to prevent this, it would be better to upload the image by taking a screenshot rather than saving it as a jpeg, gif, etc.
