Thinking about what is new fun in my life by Korean YouTuber Makrye Park
Ten years have passed since I made my debut through painting. During that time, like everyone else, I had a prolonged slump. When I was working hard on something, and there was no reaction and no response, the recession came little by little close to me. No inspiration came to my mind, and I realized that my work seemed to be insignificant. I wasn't happy with anything I drew. The painting lost its vivid light, and consequently, my heart darkened. But to overcome this slump, I had to find fun. Drawing should be a kind of play, just as children do not get bored thinking of things when they play. So, the know-how I devised to overcome the slump was to try that like a child. For instance, recently, I made an image of a Christmas card and put it on my website. And the image could be viewed as various types of products, as shown below. Place the picture on a small mug and turn it around. It's a fun job.
As If I find fun through many attempts in painting, I would like to introduce someone who find fun in a hard life. She is a 70-year-old Korean YouTuber, Mak-rye park. Seeing her older sisters suffering from dementia, Mak-rye felt scared, "I don't know if I will get dementia later." After her granddaughter, Yu-ra found that her grandmother could be diagnosed with dementia. And she made a decision that they make memories before her grandmother lost her memories. Also, she wanted to prevent and care for her grandmother's illness. She started traveling abroad with her grandmother. The videos she uploaded while traveling garnered 150,000 subscribers in a short period, arousing the interest of many people, and since then, she has become an influential YouTuber.
The distinctive difference of her YouTube broadcast is that, despite her arduous life, she solves the misfortunes with her fun. She was an ordinary mother and grandmother who always sacrificed her own life for her family and children. And just like her others, she also suffered from poverty, disease, and other hardships. She leads an arduous life without rest, and in her 70s, she is diagnosed with possibilities dementia by her doctor and plans the first overseas trip of her life. In her midst, she thoroughly enjoyed her own life, given her last, without sinking into her worries about her dementia and misfortunes about her past. She has impressive words in her words. "Why are you trying to match the rhythm of others? If you play the drum yourself and the janggu and play whatever you want with fun, people who want to match the rhythm will come and dance."
.Painting is also the same stream. If you worry about whether other people will see you like this or that, you will not feel the fun of an actual painting. That frame oppresses it, and the picture itself becomes stressful. However, when I am happy and entertained enough while drawing, many ideas come pouring in. That in itself is the driving force and great motivation. I think a picture should be drawn just for yourself. If you are not delighted and happy enough, the picture becomes a pretense and a lie if you are not receiving enough comfort through a picture. And that people eventually become know that there is no fun point in the pictures.
Painting is also a game and should be fun
