Wet Paint Festival! The Tyler Homestead is located is located in the heart of Setauket’s historic Main Street. The home dates back to the mid-1700’s and was built with trees hewed from the surrounding area. It is widely recognized that the Tyler House is one of the finest examples of a historic American farmhouse. The home was an important acquisition for the Trust not only because of its unique history, but because Patriots Rock Historic Site is part of the 3 acre property! The Trust’s mission is “Protecting the Places You Love!” One of my goals this year is to attend the Wet Paint Festival. This is my local outdoor painting event every year. About 40 local artists register and draw for this contest. This year is my first time participating in this competition. First, as a local artist, I wanted to learn more about the region's historic places. I moved to the United States and Long Island more than 10 years ago. Although it is still a short time for this place to become my perfect hometown, my heart has become deeply connected to the area where I live. I love this simple, quiet, and beautiful place. And I want to draw pictures of this place as often and as much as possible.
Best of all, the event includes not only painting opportunities, but also music and professional touring. I plan to participate in this event like a picnic with my family. And after participating, I will post my review here again.
