Visiting two galleries: Reboli center and Mills Pond GalleryToday is the day I take the Tayler Homestead painting I drew at the Wet Paint Festival to the Revoli Center. In fact, all I had to do was bring it in before the 22nd, but since watercolors dry quickly, there was no need to wait. After placing it in a frame of a similar color to the roof, I attached the wire and was ready to drop the painting off. This morning my daughter asked me if I would sell this painting. She wants this picture. She negotiated to buy it with her $5 from getting a tooth fairy. I told her I would sell it for a high price because I had been sitting outside painting for a long time with efforts and I have to make a living. My daughter answered, “Mom, sell your paintings cheaply so that even poor people can buy them.” I was surprised by her words. And on the other hand, I learned that children are much better than adults. Submitting a painting to the Revoli Center wasn't that difficult. After filling out the brief information on the document, I submitted the drawing. I was probably the first to submit it. After submitting, I toured the Setauket artist exhibition held at the center. And on the way back, I looked around the Flower Power exhibition at Mills pond Gallery. As the reception for this exhibition overlapped with the Wet Paint Festival, I was unable to attend the reception. But when I opened the gallery door, I realized that it had already turned into a flower field. My picture in the corner seemed to be looking at me resentfully, as if asking if it was finally coming. Still, I was happy to be able to see my painting even though it was late. The title of my painting is Waltz of Flowers. The flowers remind me of the skirts of women dancing a waltz, so I drew this picture with that intention. Of course, I used a balloon, not a brush. This picture was drawn very quickly, and spontaneously but it gave me great joy. Today I spent the whole morning visiting two galleries. On the way back, I had to think about my next project. And I had a plan for the studio I would open. Viewing gallery exhibitions helps with all of this.
