The presentation for a proposal of educational theatre residency program.Hi, everyone! Today, I want to introduce my residency program. The title is look around our world. This program is designed for students in grades 7-13. Look around our World's mission is to realize one's true self through educational theater. It's about waking up and having a lens to see the world correctly. It is a performance-based company that helps students courageously and joyfully explore the world around them, including themselves, by using storytelling and various theater techniques to maximize the effectiveness of educational theater. As emphasized in the lecture ‘Do schools kill creativity?’ by Sir Ken Robinson, one of the famous education scholars, the current public education is actually killing students’ creativity and potentiality. Based on this sense of crisis, when our company's educational theater residency program is applied to the public school curriculum, which is prone to standardized frameworks and prejudices, it is very helpful in enhancing students' creativity, spirit of challenge, and tolerance. "Look around Our World" Performance Company would like to give you unforgettable memories and valuable experiences during the most critical period of your life. Above all, educational theater is a very effective educational tool in helping young people experiencing identity confusion become aware of themselves, communicate with those around them, and create a positive self-image. Therefore, we have a vision to utilize the effects of educational theater to create an environment where students can explore themselves, interact with their surroundings, understand others, and live happily together. Above all, our company's activities, such as 'Educational Theater Residency,' 'Performance Including Diversity,' and 'Local Artist Talk' are in line with the fundamental spirit of Social Emotional Learning (SEL) and the standards presented by New York State for Creating (Cr2.1.1.HS1), Performing (TH: Pr4.1.HS1), Responding (TH: Re8.1.HS1), and Connecting (Cn11.1.HS1) are all known to be satisfied. This helps students discover their identity and self-image and perform this through artistic ideas to correctly perceive the world around them through interacting with and understanding others. This will help our youth, who are the hope of the future, face a happy and bright future by protecting them from the flood of various media, hatred, prejudice, and bullying.
