The biggest advantage of blogging is writing. I have been working steadily as an artist for over 10 years since my debut in 2011. Due to the uniqueness of my debut career, I have received many questions from many people about the motivation and process of my career. First of all, I was a self-taught artist and I debuted not in Korea but in Germany. I have been selling paintings since the first day of my debut, and until now, I have been working without stopping even for a month. As time went by and I answered questions to customers and people around me who had questions about my journey, I discovered that simple answers were no longer enough. I decided to expand my own website and write these narrations. And this decision ultimately made me a blogger. It's like having another job.
There are many difficulties while working as a blogger. I think this is more intense than the limitations and difficulties I face as artists. This is because artists can communicate with people and see their reactions directly through exhibitions. Through exhibitions, receptions, workshops, and art fairs, artists can see the public's opinions and reactions to their work. However, bloggers only confirm these reactions through graphs and visitor's counts. Since popularity and likeability are very subjective feelings, it is difficult to capture the awareness of your site solely through numbers without feeling the other person's reaction, facial expression, or intonation. Above all, if you blog for a long time, you will have to endure a lot of time alone with no one responding. It feels like hitting a racquetball against a big wall. I have to win my own battle. It seems like I've put in the time and effort to create killer content, but I have no idea of the response, and newbies feel anxious when the awareness of their site doesn't increase over time. I was like that too. Then, as the number of visitors increases and comments are received, the blog becomes active. When the time comes, you can also expect passive income through this if it gets approved by AdSense. But this is not the end. Blogs seem to be a market that makes you run and run like a squirrel on a wheel. Perhaps that's why, thanks to the characteristics of this system, I received the great gift of improving my writing while blogging. Previously, when I tried to write, I experienced a phenomenon where I got stuck from the first sentence. Especially when I was trying to write in English, which is not my native language, I couldn't write for a while because I didn't know what to say or how to start due to grammar, cultural differences, and emotional issues. Even now, when I take out my old writings and read them from time to time, I often wonder if they were actually written by me. However, as I have been writing a blog for many years, I have found that I am not afraid to give a topic and write according to it, and I write in a line without any hesitation. As a result, I created 10 children's books. This is an achievement I would not have been able to achieve if I had not blogged, felt the importance of storytelling, and gone to graduate school to learn it. In conclusion, blogging is a task that requires a high degree of patience, building up every day without external achievements or recognition while fighting against yourself for a long time. And because of this specificity, if you blog for a long time, your writing skills will naturally improve. These advancements and accomplishments may give you the gift of a second career.
