Human Rights Theatre Project, ideal for an ELA, History, or Civics curriculum, asks students to balance research and creativity in order to bring a current human rights issue to life. During in-depth residencies in English and history classrooms in the NYC Public Schools, Epic works with classroom teachers to guide students in the exploration of the relationship between individuals and their society. Working with Epic Teaching Artists, students write and perform theater productions that inspire and awaken civic engagement. Epic THeatre Ensemble: Founded in 2001, this artist-run theater company presents new plays and new interpretations of classic plays in venues around Manhattan.
