Wild fish paintings by studentsAt its core, the act of painting wild fish prompts students to delve into the realms of scientific understanding. Students gain insights into ichthyology and aquatic ecosystems as they capture the nuances of different fish species, their colors, and unique characteristics. This interdisciplinary approach not only enhances their scientific knowledge but also fosters a holistic understanding of the delicate balance within natural habitats. Furthermore, the act of painting itself is a journey in creativity and expression. Each stroke of the brush, each choice of color, becomes a manifestation of the student's unique perspective and artistic voice. The canvas transforms into a reflection of their imagination, allowing for the exploration of creativity in a tangible form. This process is instrumental in nurturing a sense of self-expression and confidence, skills that extend beyond the artistic realm into various aspects of personal development. In essence, wild fish painting by students is not merely a creative exercise; it is an educational odyssey that encompasses science, art, environmental advocacy, and cultural appreciation. It empowers students to become stewards of the environment, expressive individuals, and culturally aware citizens, making each stroke of the brush a transformative step in their educational journey.
Year of the DragonThe Year of the Dragon, as per the Chinese zodiac, is a symbol of power, strength, and good fortune. This mythical creature is the only mythical animal in the Chinese zodiac, embodying characteristics of dominance and ambition.
In Chinese culture, dragons are revered for their auspicious qualities. People born in the Year of the Dragon are believed to inherit these traits. They are often seen as charismatic, courageous, and full of vitality. The dragon is associated with the element of wood, further emphasizing growth, renewal, and a strong connection to nature. Each Chinese zodiac year is also linked to one of the five elements, and the Year of the Dragon cycles through Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water. This adds an additional layer of symbolism and personality traits to individuals born in different Dragon years. The Year of the Dragon is celebrated with grandeur and festivity. Dragon dances, parades, and cultural events mark the occasion, bringing communities together to usher in good fortune and prosperity. It's a time for reflection, setting goals, and embracing the dynamic energy associated with the dragon. In popular culture, dragons are often depicted as guardians of treasure and bringers of good luck. Their presence in myths and legends across various cultures further emphasizes their universal significance. For those born in the Year of the Dragon, it is considered an auspicious time for major life events such as marriage and starting a family. The dragon's symbolism is deeply ingrained in Chinese folklore, and its association with success and fulfillment continues to resonate in modern times. Whether in ancient traditions or contemporary celebrations, the Year of the Dragon is a symbol of strength, vitality, and the promise of auspicious beginnings. It captivates the imagination and invites individuals to embrace the qualities of this mythical creature as they navigate the journey of the Chinese zodiac. 'On the way', children book by Amy WuOne of my students, Amy, recently published a children's book about her amazing travel experiences through KDP Publishing. This story was written based on her experiences on a motorcycle trip to Tibet with her father. You can read the story as if you were looking at an album after a trip and talking about past memories. I ordered this book through Amazon. Above all, it is touching to see one of my students become an author, achieve her dream as her first author, and move forward into the world. This book arrived home today. Dreams are invisible to the eye, but if you dream and work hard to achieve them, they will arrive today and become reality right before your eyes, as if you can physically touch them. I want my students to be able to publish their books like this and actually touch and see their books. Because dreaming is truly the most precious experience in life. I remember when I first met Amy in 2022. She showed me her calligraphy, which she had written herself. Her handwriting was very beautiful and mysterious. I told her that her handwriting itself was a work of art, and she told me that her father had said the same thing. And she continued to paint with passion. I believe that the fruits of her ceaseless efforts and hard work are contained in this book. And she gave me a precious gift before the book was published. It was a small scroll with his own handwriting. As an artist, creating and exhibiting work is rewarding and wonderful, but I find it most rewarding to see my students achieve, upgrade, and inch closer to their dreams. In this life, there is excitement and anticipation every day. The more students there are, the more excited I become, like someone who has bought a lot of lottery tickets. I never know where i will win or what good news i will receive. And achievements come together and arrive as good news. Just like Amy's book I received today. Today was my child's piano recital. Her piano teacher brings her students together every year to create great opportunities like this. Looking at my daughter's back, I realized the importance of a stage where children can challenge themselves and dream. And I think I want to become a teacher who creates many stages like this.
