My 6th Children book, 'A Tasty Tale, Kimchi' was released in Amazon store! I created this children's book to share with you the charm of Korean kimchi. Jump into the adventure and taste kimchi's fantastic, healthy, spicy taste. I mainly created this children's book to invite children to a fun and exciting adventure with kimchi. The character of Napa, the main character who became Kimchi introduced in this book, was drawn using an illustrator. I decided to make a mini children's book featuring this character. And finally, the book was completed. I want to express my gratitude to my child, who has been waiting for a trip to Kimchi Napa for a long time. Thank you for joining us on this delicious journey!
This book was finally completed after working on the characters since the summer of 2022. Although there was a delay in publishing due to graduate school, I am glad that this book is now out in the world.

The fifth Picture Book, 'The Secrets of Story was published!"The Secrets of Story" is her fifth picture book after 'Hallo, My Robin!', 'Fancy Snail Anna',' I am a good artist,' and 'The Queen of Trees.' I wrote this book while studying for my master's in Educational Theater, Storytelling, and Arts at Adelphi University and completed it upon graduation. This fictional storybook is inspired by the book 'Healing Storytelling' by Nancy Mellon, which the author studied in the storytelling class. In particular, I created this book to convey to children in an easy-to-understand way the mysterious and magical storytelling techniques of Nancy Mellon, which helped me make my picture books. Therefore, the main title of the story used the titles from chapters 1 to 3 of Healing Storytelling as a reference.
With "The Secrets of Story," the author hopes to spark the joy of storytelling in young minds and encourage children to explore the world of stories. The 4th children's book, 'The Queen of Trees'I have finally finished the paperback of ‘I am a good artist’. You will soon be able to purchase it on Amazon. I am grateful to have been able to write and draw in my busy schedule and complete my third picture book. Following this book, I am preparing to publish my fourth book. This book was written through a storytelling class I learned during my master's program. When I shared this article, my professor and colleagues were very supportive and gave me greate encouragement. After graduating, I decided to turn this into a book. And this book will come out one day. I'm already looking forward to it. My 3rd children picture book with students artworks! This year, I independently published my third children's storybook on Amazon. ‘I am a good artist’ is a picture book that explains to children about ‘artists’, especially painters, in an easy-to-understand interview format. Since there aren't many books around that explain artists as a profession in picture books, I created this to satisfy the curiosity of children, especially my daughter. This book begins with a conversation between my trademark snail and artist Olivia. Snail Anna is curious about Olivia. Olivia describes her profession as an artist. I drew the pictures that go into this book or included pictures I had already drawn. And among my students, I selected pictures that suited the storytelling of the pictures. Below are the pictures and student names included in this book. Personally, I would like to express my gratitude to the students who drew wonderful works that make my book more beautiful and valuable. At its core, the collaborative creation of children's books catalyzes the boundless well of creativity inherent in every child. The process invites them to imagine characters, invent worlds, and weave stories, providing an outlet for their unbridled imagination. In this shared creative space, children contribute ideas and witness the tangible transformation of those ideas into the pages of a book, fostering a profound sense of ownership and pride.
Moreover, this collaborative endeavor is a gateway to interdisciplinary learning. Crafting a children's book involves various skills, from writing and illustrating to researching and organizing information. As children immerse themselves in the various aspects of book creation, they engage in a holistic learning experience that transcends traditional subject boundaries. This process enhances their language and artistic skills and nurtures a curiosity for exploration and discovery. Because of these various benefits, I plan to continue making children's books with children in the future. |
