Rockland Virtual Arts Festival Rockland Virtual Arts Festival Celebrating Local Arts with 100+ Visual Artists! An arts festival is a festival that can encompass a wide range of art forms including music, dance, film, fine art, literature, poetry and isn't solely focused on visual arts. I participated in the virtual art festival held from the beginning to the end of this April as a painting part. Although the event was held with Zoom due to Corona, it was a valuable time to show pictures from each location and talk about the pictures. After the event was over, I applied for the poetry section. I would like to inform you that the poems I applied for were presented below. In the field of painting, there were many opportunities to show through various types of exhibitions, but the field of poetry had never been opened to the public except for once received an award in Korea. However, I found out that the Rockland Art Festival was asking for poetry, and I thought this was a good opportunity, so I applied. It is the heart of a child folding a paper boat while waiting for his father to return home as soon as possible, missing his distant father. Thanks for the opportunity to share this little poem Below is the schedule for next year's festival. The deadline is the 15th, so we hope that interested artists will apply their work as soon as possible. The application fee is free, and you only have to pay the corresponding payment when selected.

Smiling rainbow Last week at holiday festivals, Santa Clause visited our local post office. Before that, there was a children's dance performance, and the choir sang christmas carol medley. During the festival, we heard someone say "Wow! it was a rainbow!" and looked up at the sky. Then I found a little rainbow. It was an adorable and beautiful rainbow. Usually, rainbows are half-moon-shaped, and this rainbow stood upside down. We captured the scene on each camera. In this picture, my child puts two sprinkles on it and says, "The rainbow is smiling". Children's eyes are accurate and imaginary. I was inspired to work digitally. This is the smiling rainbow Santa. When we see something beautiful like seeing a rainbow, we want to show it to the person next to us. "Look at this! Look here!" This words are probably the most common phrase you've heard since you were a baby. I think art is the desire to share the most beautiful things that we have seen in the life such as joy and inspiration. Even when I dream, if I see something beautiful in a dream, it's a dream, but I think as if I stand in real world. "Ah..I need a digital camera now..I need to take a picture of this moment". But it's almost impossible to get out of a digital camera quickly in a dream, so I'll just memorize it and draw it. With this motivation, I digitally created a smiling rainbow Santa Clause. Above all, I went further and made a rainbow flower. The production process will be posted on the info menu later. In the holiday festival, there was an event to set up a small Christmas tree on the street of Three Village Center Plaza and let each person decorate. Among them, Save a Pet Tree was the most impressive. One of my friends has also adopted a pet through an organization here and is raising it with love. I respect all those who work for this animal-loving and protecting organization that warmly serves and loves animals.
Grand opening, AnnakohArt in Redbubble site. When I was a kid, there was a small grocery store in front of my house. I loved passing by there. Because sometimes, grocery trucks that deliver sweets and snacks to the store are parked. The kids looked inside it with curiosity. Korea was a developing country in the '70s, so the driver should have protected it from thieves. So the truck had a twisted wire fence so no one could reach the cookies out. The children had to look around inside the barbed wire. It was our pleasure to see what new sweets arrived. In the past, I had to look through the wired fence even to see a cookie, but nowadays, I can see everything on the Internet for checking updates. Recently I opened the Red Bubble online shop by putting up products with my paintings as motifs. First, I created a banner with a width of 2400 and a height of 600 pixels as required by Red Bubble. Finally off!! We currently have 65 designs registered. When someone wants to notice a birthday party, they hang up the colorful balloons. For the image of this cheerful balloon, I captured an image called Happy Balloon, which I recently created. It seems that the happy balloon is not a tied-up balloon but a balloon that flies to the desired place. I wrote my site on this balloon and made a banner. After designing, take a look at the product. In particular, we made the following products with the motifs of Happy Nail, Decorating Snail, and Snail Anna, which were inspired by the story of Anna of Happy Tail, which was recently completed. Go to the related full story. The concept of my product is as follows. Generally speaking, it seems to show off and brag about the artist's best qualities when it comes to art. Even as an artist, when I read the writings of a particular author, I often doubt whether the author himself understood what he was saying and what he was saying. It is my philosophy that the most loved are the most ordinary. I think the work is not done for bragging, but to cry and laugh together, that is, to become familiar. I want my paintings to be ordinary but beautiful and beautiful but friendly and friendly but luxurious. Below are the products with Happy Nail motif. The story of Anna, a snail who found her home Recently I finished the Snail Anna image. It delivered great joy and happiness to me. Every time I look at it, I feel a strong motivation to tell the story I created for it. An instant inspiration hit me, and I wrote based on that energy. Below is the story of Anna, the Snail. The Snail, named Anna, has a beautiful, shiny pinkish shell. She lives in a snail village with her mother, Nancy. Her most sparkly backshell is a great pride and joy for her mom. But one day, Nancy found another snail named Amy adorned her shell with gorgeous jewels that shine brilliantly. Thanks to the fancy decorations, the Snail Amy became the town's fashionista at once. Nancy couldn't admit it. 'Oh, Anna is a natural beauty. Artificially groomed Amy can't compare to my daughter'. But Amy's décor has become famous and has become her must-have in the village. Relatively, Anna looked very shabby, and Nancy didn't want to lose her popularity, so she bought more prominent decorations than Amy. "Anna, If you put this on your shell, you can become more popular." Anna puts her decorations on her own back out of love for her mother. And she added embellishments to her beautiful natural pretty back shell, making it seem like there was no snail in the world more beautiful than this. Nancy's plan worked. Anna beat Amy back to first place. Nancy was satisfied. She made sure to put more of her decorations on it so no one could catch up with Anna. Seeing Nancy working hard and happy, Anna diligently put her jewelry on her back shell. But one day, while crawling hard, Anna realized. "OMG!...I can't walk anymore...She stopped. The decoration of the carapace became too heavy. Seeing her stop Anna, Nancy was startled. She thought. 'Nobody stop in the world.' If you stop here, it means not a live snail. You must move. What will other people say when they see you? But she was already unable to go even one step further under the weight of her decorations. Seeing her motionless Anna, the townsfolk began to gossip. Nancy was nervous. She pushed Anna's back shell and pushed her Anna. After that, Nancy told her, "All other snails crawl well, so why can't you? Why are you giving me such a hard time by being born"...she yelled at Anna. Anna went inside her the shell of her back with deep depression and despair. And she never came out again. Nancy was so embarrassed and worried that everyone will notice it. She hid Anna behind a rock and told neighbor and relatives. "Anna went to attend to a beauty pageant!" Inner shell, 2021, Myungja Anna Koh Anna spent day by day in the dark shell. Then one day, suddenly, she heard a thump. Then her surroundings turned bright surprisingly. The ceiling of her back shell collapsed and covered dust on Anna's body. Because birds flying over Anna saw a sparkling jewel and came down . They pecked at the treasure to remove it. The birds utterly destroyed Anna's shell. She lost her home in an instant. Nancy drove her bird away to protect her Anna. She would have expected to let Anna recover her heart quickly and come out of her back shell and become her radiant daughter again. But it was only after the already beautiful glory was broken. Nancy cried aloud. "The world is too harsh on me. It's so unfair. I can't live with a shame!". Anna just listened. She couldn't accept Anna, who had become a slug overnight. Anna wanted to give some relief her Nancy. "Nancy, I don't need my back shell. Slugs also don't even have a shell. But Nancy talked to Anna with a sigh. "Anna, it's a slug. You're not a slug. You're a snail that should have a shell. If snails don't have a home, villagers will ignore us and stay away. I can't live with shame. " Nancy cried. Anna was so sad. She tried to comfort Nancy, but she eventually decided to leave her town.
Turn a patterned image into a Customized shape The logo makes a lot of information or subjective data visible at a glance. The symbolic shape in flag has meaningful data such as history, tradition, and philosophy. These symbolic symbols play a significant role when you need to show impact factor about tremorous data and lead various types to unification or appeals their representative roles at a glance. So even small groups of people design a single symbol, draw it on a T-shirt and wear it together as a team work. A single explanation of a complex image is the power of the logo. The same goes for products. The LV of the famous fashion brand, Louis Vuitton, was created in 1854. For around 200 years, the Louis Vuitton logo and image are still receiving many people and is engraved as a luxury image. Compressing these various images and showing them as one makes it easy to remember for a long time, and these times are concentrated and become a brand power. This type of pattern has the advantage of having a powerful impact and popularity quickly compared to conversation or text. And The symbolic shape has many personal and invisible philosophies, histories, and traditions that can be condensed into one. I liked the many patterns painted on the ceiling when I visited an old palace in Korea. There is such a deep Korean aesthetics that cannot be expressed in words anymore. Hieroglyphs were the first written characters used by primitive people. It had a symbolic shape, religious meaning, and life patterns and styles. It is said that when people look at a space, they have a mentality to focus on one place by synthesizing data. So when space is given or remained empty place, they have used patterns to fill that space. Especially, I still can't forget the pattern of comb-patterned earthenware that I saw in the national history book in high school. Surprisingly, our ancestors made earthenware using such sophisticated designs so long ago. I can feel the wisdom and style of our ancestors who tried to fill the space by drawing V shaped or straight lines here and there. Such a pattern is a form of art that we can easily come across, like the vessel above. There is art in various lifetime products such as curtains, clocks, blankets, and bowls and plates that we see when we first wake up in the morning. It is found that such art can be applied in more diverse forms when a picture image is converted into a logo or symbolic shape and made into a product. Below is an introduction to my works made in the form of pictures and logos. Source: RedBubble, Myungja Anna Koh In this sense, I tried to make the existing patterned work into a symbolic shape. After making this, I collected what I liked when it became a product. Using this logo or symbol mark makes it easier to create products for sites such as Redbubble. |
