Stone by Charles Simic STONE by Charles Simic
Go inside a stone. That would be my way. Let somebody else become a dove Or gnash with a tiger’s tooth. I am happy to be a stone. From the outside the stone is a riddle: No one knows how to answer it. Yet within, it must be cool and quiet Even though a cow steps on it full weight, Even though a child throws it in a river; The stone sinks, slow, unperturbed To the river bottom Where the fishes come to knock on it And listen. I have seen sparks fly out When two stones are rubbed, So perhaps it is not dark inside after all; Perhaps there is a moon shining From somewhere, as though behind a hill - -Just enough light to make out The strange writings, the star-charts On the inner walls.

Outstanding Award from outdoor Art Show! The outdoor art show and music festival, a big event hosted by our local Gallery North every year, is held for two days. Today is the second day, the last day. Today, I redecorated and reseted my table with another style because I sold pumpkin arts and frames. Below is the location where I exhibited. Today, the gallery director personally came and handed me the award. I am grateful for the opportunity to share my paintings with the community, and I am even more happy to receive the award. But best of all, better than this kind of award, is to see the clear, sparkling eyes of those who love painting. Talk to them about the picture. Meeting artists and thinking about art together. That is my happiness.
One of the people who bought my paintings is especially impressive. She bought one of my paintings because she wanted to help the people of Ukraine who are suffering from war. The income from these paintings will be donated for them. Thank you again. It was a happy day to have people with such a warm heart. Outdoor Art Show and Music Festival with GalleryNorth. I attended the outdoor art show held at Gallery North. It's my first experience selling it on a table outdoors. And it was a precious time to meet people who love painting more closely. It's always a great pleasure for me to see people who love painting and their clear eyes and souls. Even as a painter who sells paintings, there are always secret concerns and difficulties. It will be in any field. I'm worried what if my painting isn't worth the money. I'm also worried that people might have bought my paintings with the money they would have bought for something else. I wonder if my paintings can bring happiness, joy, and comfort to people the way I want them to. There is a Korean poet who wrote this artist's heart into poetry. His poetry is written in Korean, so I tried to translate it into English a little bit to make it easier to understand. ‘Positive thoughts about rice’ by Ham Min-bok If it's thirty thousand won for a poem (note: won is korean currency and it worth to around 1400 dollar in this time) Even if I want to be too stingy (note: He thinks that it's too cheap.) If I think that the price is two Mal of rice, (note; Mal means that it is a unit of measurement of volume, and one Mal has a volume of about 18 liters. It is also called two (斗). One Mal is ten, and ten Mal are one Sum. ) In no time, my heart becomes like warm rice 3,000 won for a book of poetry Even if I want to be loose compared to my sincerity One bowl of soup My poetry collection is as big as a bowl of soup Can my book warm people's hearts? Thinking about it, I'm still far away If a book of poetry is sold I get three hundred won back Even though I thought it was a loss When I think of a drop of coarse salt I have no heart to be hurt like the blue sea Source: Senior Daily (http://www.seniormaeil.com) I would like to express my sincere thanks to the painting lovers who bought my paintings today. Thanks to you, I think I will be able to draw with a more sincere heart in the future. This will make my art world deeper and richer. This is my promise to everyone who bought my paintings today.
Pumpkin Art ! The days are getting colder. Autumn is a reminder of how quickly the hot summer days change like this. Around this time of the year, I paint on artificial pumps. Below is a picture drawn on a pumpkin Artificial Pumpkins are made of plastic as shown below. They come in different sizes and shapes, and white pumpkins are recommended for painting. The paint absorbs better than paper, and acrylic paints tend to have better attachment. Water colors, acrylic paints, and felt pens are absorbed better than expected. Just draw a sketch like this and add highlights to it. This is the finished picture. Pumpkin art is very attractive because it is a three-dimensional canvas that can be rotated from various angles. I'm going to display this Pumpkin at the Gallery North Art Show tomorrow.
