Kateryna Bilokur Kateryna Bilokur is a Ukrainian artist. Bilokur's work has a much deeper existential dimension through fantastic and beautiful flower paintings, nature. She pursued her artistic activity in the Ukrainian provinces during a period of serious historical and political situation of the 20th century. «I Want to Be an Artist» is an autobiographical quote and the credo of Kateryna Bilokur. With no primary education, she lived in a primitive environment in a Soviet Ukrainian village. Bilokur has experienced all the horrific events in the history of Ukraine in the last century: Revolution, Holodomor and World War II. Even in painful moments, she only had the passion and dream of becoming an artist, and eventually she made her dream a reality. Throughout her life, she painted beautiful flowers that bloomed around her house on canvas. Flowers grow around Bilokur's house, just like her whole life. Kateryna wrote about them so in one of her letters. "How can I not draw them when they are so beautiful? Oh my God, I looked around and saw the beautiful and the other was so much better. And they bowed down to me and said, 'Who will hit us when you leave us? Shall I do it?' Then I forget everything in the world and draw flowers again." Bilokur never learned to paint professionally, and was self-taught artist. She called nature her teacher. In her life, Kateryna painted about a hundred works and Picasso recognized her talent by seeing these paintings. She became famous for her flower compositions, and painted on one painting for a year. She is know to never pick flowers. She said that A plucked flower is like a lost destiny." In fact, if you look at her flower paintings, you can see how much she loved and focused on flowers and nature with her delicate and soft touch. Personally, when I look at her fantastic and beautiful flower paintings, it is difficult to guess that her life was full of war, tragedy and loneliness. What I can guess is that, amidst the difficulties and pains of her life, she lived each day gratefully, feeling a little happiness with nature through painting. It is clear that she concentrated on each petal and poured her passion, time, and talents to overcome the pain and adversity that approached every minute in the great wave of fate. And I remember a passage in the Bible where it was said that her attitude and philosophy of life were revealed through her paintings, and if she looked at her paintings, this too shall pass away. TIHS, TOO, SHALL PASS AWAY." I pray that the hardships and difficulties that are currently in her hometown will be overcome and restored, and the flowers of hope will bloom like her beautiful paintings. Today, after seeing the weather forecast that will drop below freezing next week, I hurried out and went to the beach to enjoy the spring weather for a while. The sea before the rain is calm and beautiful. Thanks to our nature, I took a lot of beautiful photos. Nature is a true teacher for the artist. Painter's birthday by Google doodle Yesterday I went to my daughter's friend's 6th birthday party. In the place where I live, the number of corona cases is decreasing a lot now, and people can go without wearing a mask. With good news, the birthday party season is coming one after another, and invitations are received from children's friends. As always, it's so exciting to choose a gift, buy a card, write a congratulatory message on it, and wrap the gift for little lovely girl. And it is one of the happy things to see the children laughing and talking at the celebration party on the same day. Birthdays always create images of celebration and anticipation. To commemorate the birthdays of artists, Google is also showing the birthday of a specific artist and the figure representing the artist with Google fonts through Google Doodle. A Google Doodle is a special, temporary alteration of the logo on Google's homepages intended to commemorate holidays, events, achievements, and notable historical figures of particular countries. Among them, there is a site that organizes the artist's birthday by date, so I moved it. January 19, 2011 A logo celebrated Cezanne's 172nd Birthday. In particular, it is impressive that this logo mimics Paul Cézanne's oil painting with a bold touch that breaks the rules and forms and recreates the true form. He wrote that “Painting from nature is not copying the object and it is realizing one's sensations.” And then his still life with Apples reflects this view and the artist's steady fascination with color, light, pictorial space, and how we see. “A painting is a combination of feelings. In other words, it is art that creates the relationship between color, outline and plane.” Paul's apples look different depending on the viewing angle, even if they are the same apple. The google doodle engraved the logo in the abstract painting of Jackson Pollock, American abstract expressionist painter and one of the most famous artists. It's like a password-like text screen that appears when you set a password. He (February 3, 1894 – November 8, 1978) was an American painter and illustrator. His works have a broad popular appeal in the United States for their reflection of American culture. Rockwell is most famous for the cover illustrations of everyday life he created for The Saturday Evening Post magazine over nearly five decades This is my favorite among his paintings that naturally captured American culture, characteristics, and life. It seems to be the most American painting. Renowned German expressionist painter Paula Modersohn-Becker was born on this day in 1876. Her art bears witness to her courage, boldness, and ambition — a temperament that greatly influenced her short but prolific career. Her career was cut short when she died from postpartum embolism at the age of 31. She is recognized as the first known female painter to paint nude self-portraits. She was an important member of the early 20th century modernism movement. Michelangelo's David statue was placed in the L position of the Google logo. It's a fun idea. Pieter Cornelis Mondriaan, after 1906 Piet Mondrian, was a Dutch painter and art theoretician who is regarded as one of the greatest artists of the 20th century. The characteristics of Mondrian can be briefly summarized as 'cold abstraction', 'vertical, horizontal, three primary colors, achromatic colors'. These characteristics of his paintings were applied to the logo. Rosa Bonheur was a French artist known best as a painter of animals. She also made sculpture in a realist style. The google doodle illustrated by Poland-based guest artist Dixie Leota, celebrates the 130th birthday of Polish painter, graphic designer, illustrator, and stage designer Zofia Stryjeńska, who is widely regarded as one of the most significant Polish art deco artists of the early 1900s. Across its countless mediums, Stryjeńska’s bold and adventurous work mirrors her personality as an uncompromising heroine of creativity and artistic expression. Mexican painter and activist Magdalena Carmen Frida Kahlo Calderón was born on July 6, 1907 in Mexico City, in her parents’ home, “La Casa Azul,” or “The Blue House.” Although she contracted polio at the age of 6 and continued to have significant health issues throughout her life, Kahlo never stopped working and striving. Often regarded as one of the greatest artists in European history, Rembrandt van Rijn is a master not only of form and light but also in portraying human emotion. Aboriginal Australian artist Albert (Elea) Namatjira was Born in 1902 near Alice Springs in the Northern Territory of Australia, he joined the Arrernte community at the age of 13 where he developed his love for the rough and wild Australian landscape. For more than a decade, Bob Ross’ The Joy of Painting welcomed viewers into his minimalist tv studio for inspiration and painting tips The Google Doodle celebrates the 120th birthday of Ukrainian painter Kateryna Bilokur, a self-taught virtuoso who earned international renown for her detailed and vivid paintings, especially those featuring her signature focus on flowers. Through a courageous devotion to her craft, Bilokur overcame great adversity to earn recognition alongside the master artists of her time.
Small but certain happiness for myself Recently I had to take a break from work for a while due to shoulder pain. I have been to the pain management clinic and got a non contrast MRI. For all days, I couldn't eat or sleep properly at night. Naturally, all I had to do was get my husband's help as everything got pushed out of the way. Then now I barely recovered and regained my health. I can't eat anything except water all day, but can eat little by little during the recovery period when my condition is restored. Generally, you start off with a soft food, with no seasoning at all. Then you can get up a little bit and eat the food you were able to eat before. When you recover your health like this, eat the food you ate before, clean up, work, and meet friends, you realize how grateful this daily life is. So was my case. When you recover from pain and regain health, you will be grateful for everything that has been done because you are healthy. And then you become grateful for the little things around you. I am happy to hear the beautiful birdsong under the sunshine in the morning. I am happy to buy pretty flowers bundles, put them in a red transperant vase, and smell their scent and appreciate the colors as they show me. It makes me happy to hear the smiles and laughter that children show unconditionally for no reason. I am happy to hang my paintings on the wall and look at them. In particular, I feel better when the colors come out better than I expected and the sketches go well quickly. When I go out to take out the garbage in the morning, I am happy to say Good morning to the neighbors I run into. Having a hug and a light tea time with friends I haven't seen in a long time is a great pleasure. My piggies show affection by sniffing and smelling my fingers. When I see them, I feel great happiness. I planted a flower seed in a flowerpot, and I am happy to see the seed grow and sprout sticking out of the soil. It is also happy to see every corner of the house being cleaned and kept clean. When I have free time, I enjoy listening to music and brewing hot black tea or coffee in a pretty kettle, pouring it out of a nice golden cup, not the real gold I bought on Amazon. I am happy to take a walk in the fresh air every morning and see the decorations made by my neighbors in every nook and cranny. In fact, in our daily life, there are countless happinesses that are small and small but give great joy. Only if you don't focus on your own unhappiness without comparing others. Neither drawing nor blogging, most of everything is like nurturing and caring for something. It takes a lot of time, requires patience, and finds meaning and joy in a tedious process. It is difficult to draw steadily considering the enormous honor and wealth. The Post-Impressionist painter we know well, Claude Monet traveled a lot to capture his style, color, and the many beauties of the world. Perhaps he had a desire to immortalize all the beauty of the world, stuffed into a canvas. However, after a long journey, he came back to his house and stayed in his own house, painting his paintings. So the masterpieces that were created are Monet's Garden and Lotus series. He would have realized that what he had been searching for all his life was what was closest to him. The beauty of light obtained through this philosophy of life and enlightenment always moves many people. I like a poem "If I Can Stop One Heart From Breaking" by Emily Dickson. If I can stop one heart from breaking, I shall not live in vain; In fact, our life may not be a series of grandiose things, but a miracle achieved by small and small things.
Black tea I am a coffee lover. I can't remember when I started drinking coffee, but I think I've been drinking a lot of coffee since I first tasted it, except when I was pregnant. When I drink coffee, I drink it as black without adding any sugar or cream. That's why I like Americano-style coffee with nothing added. This is because if I add other additives such as sugar or milk to the coffee, I cannot feel the coffee's unique flavor. Especially when I was in Germany, I suffered from low blood pressure. The geographic coordinates of Karlsruhe, the city where I lived, at 49.009° latitude, 8.404° longitude and 118m elevation. That is, the land is higher than other terrain. It is also cloudy 67% of the year with frequent rain. Perhaps because of this climate, when I lived in Germany, I often had headaches and dizziness. The volatile weather, which is always cloudy with rain and sometimes stops, affects your health. Before it rains, the atmospheric pressure in the air decreases and the oxygen content decreases. This is called low pressure weather. In other words, when the air pressure drops, the blood vessels dilate, and this change in blood pressure causes a headache. The vestibular system, which maintains the balance of the body in the ear, causes vertigo due to changes in air pressure. Body aches, indigestion, and tinnitus. Coffee was like a savior to me when I was suffering from this weather sickness. Every day at home or on the street, I drank the strongest coffee. In this way, the caffeine in the coffee constricts blood vessels, resulting in some degree of blood vessel relaxation. So, because of the taste and efficacy of coffee, I became a coffee maniac and bought a large coffee machine to grind beans and drink. I still miss my coffee machine I used in Germany. However, I have recently felt the need to cut down on consumption of coffee. That's the reason I found that high doses of caffeine actually cause the side effect. However, I was worried about whether it would be possible to decrease on the coffee that had been with me for a long time in an instant. So, the alternative that I came up with is black tea. I bought black tea from Costco that comes out around this time of the spring. 240 packs of tea sold in cans with cute bunny illustrations for the Easter season. And with the desire to drink this kind of tea happily, I bought also a white tea pot in Marshall, drew a pretty flower picture. After preparing everything like this, I slowly switched from coffee to black tea. It was good to be able to walk away from coffee without withdrawal symptoms because it has caffeine while maintaining the characteristic bitter taste of coffee. Black tea, also translated to red tea in various Asian languages, is a type of tea that is more oxidized than oolong, green, yellow, and white teas. Black tea is generally stronger in flavor than other teas. This strong scent is a great substitute for coffee flavor. Black tea has many health benefits. 1. Anti-aging, antioxidant action Black tea contains antioxidants that inhibit the activity of free radicals that accelerate aging. The antioxidant effect of catechins is known to be 100 times greater than that of vitamin C, and polyphenols also have strong antioxidant properties, so they have anti-aging, arteriosclerosis and cardiovascular disease prevention, and cancer-fighting effects. In other words, it is a good tea to drink for beauty and prevention of cancer and vascular disease. 2. Lipolysis effect Catechins in black tea reduce fat and cholesterol concentration to promote lipolysis, and caffeine has a function of suppressing the deposition of triglycerides, which is helpful for diet. 3. Cold Prevention Black tea is rich in minerals such as calcium, phosphorus, and magnesium, and antioxidants such as tannins have strong antiviral and antibacterial properties that fight viruses such as influenza, dysentery, and hepatitis. Black tea also contains alkylamine antigens that help boost the immune response. Therefore, it is used to boost immunity and prevent colds and viral diseases. 4. Relieve fatigue Unlike coffee, the caffeine content in black tea is low, and it is not absorbed quickly by the body. It is also effective in relieving stress and calming nerves. 5. Bone and Joint Health Studies have shown that people who drink black tea regularly have stronger bones and joints than those who do not. Drinking black tea is known to help prevent osteoporosis by blocking active substances that destroy bone cells. 6. Prevention of tooth decay Polyphenols and tannins in black tea prevent bacteria that cause tooth decay and kill bacteria that cause bad breath, and fluoride removes bacteria that cause tooth decay. 7. Improvement of digestive function There is a study result that tannins in black tea are effective for stomach and intestinal diseases, and polyphenol relieves intestinal inflammation in irritable bowel syndrome. In addition, the antibacterial function of black tea helps to improve the symptoms of constipation and diarrhea by killing harmful bacteria in the intestine. I have decided to drink black tea every day with so many health benefits. The daily recommended amount of caffeine intake for adults is known to be less than 400mg, and there is 154mg of caffeine in a cup of Americano (355ml). However, black tea also contains caffeine, so drinking too much is not good. Anything in excess is not good. There is a picture that comes to mind when I think of such tea and tea time. Below is a tea time by Mary Stevenson Cassatt. Mary Stevenson Cassatt (/kəˈsæt/; May 22, 1844 – June 14, 1926)[1] was an American painter and printmaker. She was born in Allegheny City, Pennsylvania , but lived much of her adult life in France where she befriended Edgar Degas and exhibited with the Impressionists. Cassatt often created images of the social and private lives of women, with particular emphasis on the intimate bonds between mothers and children. Perhaps that's why her paintings are mostly women's and children's everyday life. Among them, in the picture of "Tea", two beautiful women are having tea time. The woman sitting in the space on the right is talking, and the woman in the picture is listening to the story while drinking tea. A woman has her hand on her chin and she is seriously listening to her. I think the story was very interesting to see her cup lying on her tray with the tea still unfilled. Looking at the woman on the right drinking tea, I think the British who think teatime is like a picnic at her house are right.
Life in a single house, handmade life It seems that spring has finally arrived. It is still very windy and sometimes cold, but I can still realise the arrival of spring when I see the birds basking on the branches or singing beautifully in the air. On the branches, flower buds are protruding out of the branches. After a long winter, I am particularly pleased with this spring. Above all, the number of corona cases has decreased a lot, and people no longer wear masks. Even in children's schools, masks are now only worn by those who want to wear them. It's really a happy thing to see spring and people smiling. Last year, I took tulip bulbs from a bunch of tulips my neighbor Michelle gave me and planted them here and there in the yard with my husband. Then, with the onset of spring, the baby buds of tulips appear on the ground. Without realizing it, the trees and flowers were eagerly preparing for spring. They were moving forward little by little, enduring the cold winter and rain and wind. Being able to capture the sounds of nature, the small movements, and the changing seasons is such a gift. When I was in Korea and Germany, I lived in multi-family houses or apartments for the most part. Of course, there was no yard there, and I had to live by always paying attention to the neighbors around me and being careful to make noises. Above all, our house was on a high floor, it was difficult to properly feel what was happening on the ground and how the seasons were changing. That's why, when I think of childhood memories, I think of a two-story house with a yard. I lived in that house for a while as a child. In the United States, especially in sub-urban areas like where I live, most houses have a yard. I also live in a house with a front yard and a back yard that I saw a lot in American dramas and movies as a child. Apartments do not need to be managed individually. A resident manager takes care of and manages everything. We just pay the monthly maintenance fee and get attention. But if you live in a detached house like me, you have to be diligent. The lawn should be mowed regularly, and in the fall, it should be cleaned by sweeping the fallen leaves that accumulate every day. In winter, no one but me clears the pile of snow. The road from the driveway to the road needs to be cleared of snow before going out to the market. And as long as you live in a house, you will inevitably have a place to repair it here and there. In my case, a pipe in the floor burst, a hole in the wall due to termite, a boiler trouble, etc. Whenever that happens, I call a specialist or I do these things. In the spring and winter, the yard needs to be cleared, cleaned and freshly laid with mulch. As spring begins in earnest and summer approaches, weeds in the grass compete with the lawn. Of course, these should also be removed. And summer is a war against bugs. You have to fight various bugs. A country life is a life that has a lot of work to do and is cumbersome and difficult. Mostly everything is done by hand. I'm used to doing something with my back bent. But even though it is a landscaping and doing something for yard and house that requires lots of energy, time and sometimes money, but I like this kind of country life. Because these things make us live closer to nature. When I lived in an apartment, it was like I was trapped in a huge concrete and floating somewhere. It was a convenient, stylish and perfect life, but the biggest drawback is that I could't get close to nature. Nature is the greatest gift we can enjoy without cost and effort. The rising sun, the clear wind, the beautiful sounds of birds, and the scent of flowers as a fragrance are unwavering love itself that does not give more or less depending on our qualifications or conditions. When I was in Korea, there was a book that I read while longing for a life with nature. The book is called "A Handmade Life: In Search of Simplicity" by William Coperthwaite and John Saltmarsh. The title of this book is 'Handmade Life', which literally translates to 'Life Made with My Hands'. In other words, the author raises the issue of true subjectivity in life, and says that the more you make something with your own hands, the more people will become the true masters of your life. In today' real society, where mass production and huge consumption have become a virtue and common senses, those who say that money is not everything but choose to live a life dominated by 'money' can never become the masters of their own lives. . Through the lifestyle of the author, which can be said to be somewhat experimental, this book presents a healthy example for people who live a life like a shell to regain their subjectivity in life. Corpushwaite believes that true democracy will be established only when citizens of a truly mature society do not entrust their personal life and social design to others, and create what they need on their own, that is, when they actively strive to do 'social design'. We may be at the right time to enjoy a creative life in which knowledge and work harmonize. There will be no ‘retirement’ in our work to create a life that is closely connected with nature, and where thought, labor, art, music, and poetry are in harmony with each other. You have to live a life of constant challenge in order to do something new, useful, and better. ( one of Summary in the book) Living with nature in country life, I move my body and hands every day, every time. And the direction of my life becomes more independent as I do more things on my own. In other words, the part that depends on someone on a certain system is decreasing, and the things I think, decide, and create are increasing. These kind of things certainly seem to give a great sense of accomplishment and satisfaction. Among the artists, Tasha Tudor was one of those who lived a self-sufficient handmade life by creating herself in nature. She is loved by many as America's leading children's writer, illustrator and she cultivated a paradise-like garden. In her gardening career, she drew inspiration from nature, cultivating flowers and animals in and close to nature. The garden she planted has become one of the most famous gardens in America. Looking at one of her paintings, I can see how much she cared for nature in her daily life. Because she did not paint grand, magnify and sometimes fancy landscapes or resorts, but rather a rustic and slightly shabby-looking garden path. However, this path, which seems simple to others, must have been very beautiful for her. She was so she would have wanted to leave it as a painting. Because she planned, calculated, and made this path herself. The creative mind to actively and independently solve and design life on its own is very well explained and connected with the spirit of art. This spirit is inspiring. This inspiration can connect with like-minded people or communities to pursue the same things. If there are more people like this, society might change to a more nature-friendly image.
