Dear Weebly, Please Fix This One Small but Frustrating Issue– Regarding the absence of automatic text deletion function when entering H1 tags I have been a loyal user of Weebly for a very long time. Whether it is a blog, portfolio, or a simple web page, I have recommended it to many people because it has a low entry barrier for design and can be easily configured with drag and drop. However… there is one problem that really makes me feel uncomfortable every time I write. That is, when using the “H1 tag (heading 1)”, the default text is not automatically deleted. A longtime Weebly user shares a simple but important UX issue: the H1 tag input still requires users to manually delete the default text. Here's why fixing this small feature can make a big difference, especially for content creators and bloggers. When you insert a Title element or H1 tag in Weebly, it automatically includes example text (e.g., "Click here to edit title"). However, when the user clicks on that part and tries to write text, the existing example text does not disappear automatically. In the end, you have to manually delete the example text one by one before writing. Even if it is a short task, if it is repeated, it is not only a waste of time, but also an inconvenient and confusing experience for novice users. What I want from Weebly Most web builders and blog platforms these days adopt a method where the title text or example sentence disappears automatically when clicked. Users can just enter the content, and the UX is smooth. However, Weebly still maintains a structure where you must manually delete the example sentence and start writing. This may seem like a small feature, but it is a repetitive and unnecessary task for users who frequently create content. Please, Weebly, please fix this too - About the absence of the ‘Search and edit previous posts’ function in blog posts I run a blog through Weebly, and write various articles, from small records of creative activities to practical information. However, after using it for a long time, I keep encountering one very fundamental problem. That is, the **“Find and edit previous blog posts” function** is too limited. How does Weebly work now? When you go into the blog editor, you see the most recently written post. Other posts are listed in a simple list format on the sidebar, and there is no search function. To edit an old post, you have to scroll through the long list and check the titles one by one, and you have to open it without a preview to see what content was written in each post. This is not a problem when there are about 10 posts, but it is a very inefficient structure when there are 50 or 100 posts or more. Why is it important to search for previous posts? 1. Editing for typos or information updates Even if it is an old post, you may have new information or want to improve the expression. But there are many cases where you don't remember exactly which post you wrote that content in. 2. Managing series posts When writing a series of posts on a specific topic, you need to be able to easily find the previous post when you want to refer to it or add a link. 3. Maintaining SEO You want to update the latest links or tags in old posts for search engine optimization, but if they are not searchable, that in itself becomes a huge burden. And why this needs to be possible within the editor at the same time Currently, in Weebly, you either have to go back to the front page of your blog to see older posts, or you have to go through the entire list of posts. This approach 🔹 breaks your creative flow, 🔹 increases editing and maintenance fatigue, 🔹 and makes it unmaintainable as your blog grows. If we had a simple search box, 🔹 a simple filter function, 🔹 Weebly would be a much more sustainable platform. A sincere suggestion to Weebly
I think Weebly's greatest strength is that it is a "blog that even beginners can easily start." But it is too bad that as the number of articles increases, that strength gradually turns into a weakness. With just one search function, numerous Weebly users will be able to utilize their content longer, deeper, and more widely. In order for Weebly to establish itself as a true content platform, I think that improving the 'search and manage previous articles' function within the blog is absolutely necessary.
