Dear Weebly, Please Add a Blog Post Search Feature in the Editor

The Problem: No Search Function in the Editor

Currently, if I want to update or revise a previous blog post, I need to scroll through the sidebar archives by date, month by month—sometimes year by year—to try and find it. This means manually guessing when I posted it, clicking into each blog page, and hoping I’ll land on the right entry. If I wrote the post months or years ago, it becomes an exhausting process.

For example, if I want to:

• Update a broken link
• Fix outdated information
• Add new visuals
• Refresh the SEO or tags
• Correct a typo

  ...I first need to spend 15–30 minutes just locating the post. Not revising. Not improving. Just finding.

This is incredibly time-consuming—especially for creators who maintain active, content-rich blogs.

Why Updating Old Blog Posts Matters

Blogging isn't just about creating new content—it's also about maintaining and improving the existing work we’ve already shared. Here’s why that matters:

• Information changes. Especially in fields like education, tech, art, or product reviews, posts from 1–2 years ago can quickly become outdated.
• SEO needs maintenance. Updating keywords, improving formatting, or fixing broken links helps older posts stay visible in search engines.
• Audiences revisit older content. A reader who finds a blog post from 2022 via Google still deserves the most accurate and helpful version of that content.
• It helps reduce content clutter. Instead of creating a whole new post, revising a previous one keeps the blog cleaner and more relevant.

But if we can’t quickly locate our old posts, we’re far less likely to do this important maintenance work.
