2025 Student Art Competition: A Global Call for Young Artists

The Chinese American Museum DC invites students worldwide, from grades 1 through 12, to participate in the 2025 Student Art Competition. This year's theme, "Reparative and Regenerative," encourages young artists to explore how art can heal and transform individuals, communities, and the environment.​

Eligibility & Categories:

• Open to students in grades 1–12 globally.​
• Two categories:​
  • Lower Grade: Students born after December 31, 2012.​
  • Upper Grade: Students born on or before December 31, 2012.​

Submission Guidelines:

• One original artwork per student, any medium, up to 24" x 36".​
• Include an artist statement (max 100 words) explaining the work's relation to the theme.​
• Submit a JPG image (under 20 MB) along with the registration form via email to [email protected] by 5 PM ET on Friday, February 28, 2025.​

Judging Criteria:

• Interpretation of the theme.​
• Technical skill.​
• Originality (no fan art or reproductions).​

Awards & Exhibition:

• Finalists' artworks will be exhibited at the Chinese American Museum DC.​
• Lower Grade Awards: $50, $200, $500, and $800 scholarships.​
• Upper Grade Awards: $100, $400, $700, and $1,000 scholarships.​
• Finalists will be notified in March/April 2025.
