2025 AWS Associate Members Online Exhibition

The American Watercolor Society (AWS) has announced its 2025 Associate Members Online Exhibition, open exclusively to current AWS Associate Members. This exhibition provides a platform for watercolor artists to showcase their work globally and compete for prestigious awards.

• Online Exhibition: June 12 – August 30, 2025

Awards & RecognitionThe exhibition offers cash prizes to top artists:

• 1st Place: $1,500
• 2nd Place: $1,000
• 3rd Place: $500
• Three additional Awards of Merit

Jurors include renowned watercolor artists:

Eligibility & Entry GuidelinesThis exhibition is open exclusively to current AWS Associate Members (Signature Members are not eligible). Only original watercolor-based artwork is allowed. Acceptable mediums include:

• Watercolor
• Acrylic
• Casein
• Gouache
• Egg tempera

The painting must be created on paper (including Yupo). The following are not permitted:

• Collage, pastels, digital art, prints, or AI-generated work
• Reproductions of any kind
• Classwork or pieces made under teacher supervision
• Copies or likenesses of other artists’ work
• Paintings previously exhibited with AWS

Each artist may submit one entry only, and no substitutions are allowed after acceptance. Non-compliance with these rules may lead to disqualification.
Submission ProcessSubmissions must be made online via the AWS member account on the official website (www.americanwatercolorsociety.org). Artists must log in to their accounts to access the submission portal.
Digital Image Requirements:

• Format: JPG
• File Size: Up to 3.5MB
• Resolution: 300 DPI recommended
• Minimum Size: 2000 pixels on the longer side
• Orientation: Correct (vertical or horizontal)
• No watermarks, frames, or digital enhancements

Sales & PricingArtists can list their paintings for sale or mark them as Not for Sale (NFS). Once submitted, prices cannot be changed. If a painting is sold, AWS will retain a 35% commission from the sale price.
Entry Fee & Deadline

• Entry Fee: $30
• Final Submission Deadline: May 8, 2025, at NOON EDT (not midnight)
• No deadline extensions and no changes allowed after acceptance
