Why I Still Blog in the Age of AI – The Value of Documenting the Artist’s ExperienceWhy I Still Blog in the Age of AI – The Value of Documenting the Artist’s Experience I’ve been running my blog since well before ChatGPT or other AI tools became a part of everyday life. Of course, many bloggers started long before I did. But when I first launched my blog, I had one main question in mind: “What kind of voice or tone should I consistently write in?” At the time, many art blogs focused heavily on sharing practical information:
But I soon realized something: That wasn’t the kind of writing I truly wanted to do. The Kind of Blog I Was Searching For What I was really looking for were blogs written by artists sharing their daily lives, inner thoughts, and creative philosophies. I didn’t want more tutorials—I wanted to know:
But blogs like that were rare. Artists often appeared as distant, polished figures—like paintings hung in a museum—rather than as approachable storytellers sharing the raw texture of their creative lives. And so I thought “If I can’t find it, maybe I should write it myself.” I Decided to Document the Artist’s Experience From then on, I began writing blog posts focused on my personal experiences as an artist—stories behind exhibitions, creative blocks, breakthroughs, small victories, and even disappointments. These posts are not just reflections; they’re honest records of the path I’m walking. And I write them with the hope that they might offer guidance, reassurance, or inspiration to someone else walking a similar path. Because the life of an artist can be unclear, uncertain, and often isolating. But reading about someone else's journey—even just knowing they faced similar struggles—can make your own path feel a little less obscure. Now, in the Age of AI Today, AI tools like ChatGPT can generate content in seconds. And this shift has only strengthened my belief: The path I chose early on—writing from personal experience—was the right one. AI can deliver facts, summaries, and general how-tos. But it cannot live a life, feel deeply, or reflect with vulnerability. Real stories from real people still matter. And in this age of instant answers, authentic, lived experience is more valuable than ever. For Artists and Creatives Out There If you’re an artist—or thinking about becoming one-- I hope this blog can be a small light along your way. No one has a perfect map for this path. But the voices of others walking beside you can help you feel less alone. I plan to keep writing, sharing, and telling the truth of my own creative life-- because in doing so, I believe we make space for others to do the same. Comments are closed.
