What is a well-drawn painting?Having been drawing for over 10 years, I have come up with my own definition of what a good painting is. A well-drawn painting is not proportional to its size. A good picture, even a simple one drawn on a very small piece of paper, is sure to impress. For example, one of my favorite painters, the Korean painter Lee Jung-seop, painted using tin foil or gum paper from cigarette packs because he had no money to buy paper in extreme poverty. This painting is currently housed in the MoMA in New York. A beautiful picture destroys all forms. This is as if you cannot enter heaven even if you keep all the laws. Even if elements such as perfect composition, perspective, color, and brush strokes are almost flawless, some paintings fail to impress people. A well-drawn picture is cool even if it is roughly drawn.
A well-drawn painting often transcends the specificity and complexity of its subject matter. You don't have to search for rare and spectacular historical scenes to paint a masterpiece. A great painting can feel its own aura even when drawing on the surrounding rocks. A moving picture goes beyond technical description. When artists reach a new level after working for a long time, they often let go of technical intricacies. And he constantly searches for authenticity and essence, ultimately producing a masterpiece. The principle is always simple. It means painting a picture that goes beyond oneself and moves the artist who paints it. A well-drawn picture is not complicated, pretentious, or overly forceful. It is very comfortable and warm, like sunlight seeping into the alley. When I look at pictures like this, I think of my childhood and happy memories. Sometimes it helps me discover beauty I didn't know I had. As I paint, I often find that I need to paint honestly. Exaggerated brushstrokes inevitably create awkwardness. When I brush honestly and freely, the painting gives me a comfortable feeling. Pictures that put me at ease like this never deceive me. I am continuing to explore this process. Artists struggle every day to create beautiful and moving paintings that will last forever in the sincerity of art.
