This year’s Doodle for Google online submission system is more user-friendly than in previous years.
Students can upload one .JPG or .PNG file that contains both the completed entry form and the artwork, making the overall process simple and efficient.
However, there is one limitation:
After submitting, you cannot review or edit your submission.
Google provides only two possible responses:

2. A confirmation message (submission received).

• School or non-profit name

• Title (10 words max)
• Description of the doodle (50 words max)

Most common form-related errors

• The grade level checkbox was left blank
• The parent signature is missing
• The entry form was cropped, distorted, or resized improperly

If any of these items are missing or altered, the system rejects the submission automatically.

2. If the Artwork Was Not Drawn Directly on the Entry Form, File Format and Layout Matter

Many students draw their doodle on separate paper and then take a photo or scan it.
In this case, the student (or teacher/parent) must digitally combine the entry form and the artwork into one image file.

3. How to Create a Submission File That Uploads Smoothly

For JPG/PNG submissions, use the following guidelines to avoid errors:

1. Keep the entry form at its original aspect ratio
2. Attach the artwork directly below or beside the form in a natural one-page layout
3. Export as one high-quality JPG or PNG
4. Avoid extremely long “scroll-style” images
5. Use a standard resolution (150–300 dpi)

If your file follows these guidelines, the submission system typically accepts it without issue.

4. Because You Cannot Review Your Submission, Double-Check Everything Before Uploading

After clicking submit, you will see only:

• Error: your file was not accepted
• Submission Received: your file was accepted

There is no preview, no confirmation email with thumbnails, and no editing window.
For this reason, reviewing the entry form and file formatting before uploading is essential.

5. Deadline: December 10

With the deadline approaching, make sure to leave enough time to correct any format-related issues.
Before submitting, check:

• Is every field on the entry form filled in?
• Is the signature included?
• Is the file a single JPG/PNG?
• Does the layout look like one clean page?
• Is the entry form unmodified and clearly readable?

6. Certificates Are Available After Submitting

After a successful submission, Google provides a downloadable participation certificate.
You can personalize it by adding each student’s name using Photoshop, Preview, Canva, or another editing tool.
