Three Village area that was in the eye of the storm.Three Village area that was in the eye of the storm. Gallery North is being forced to temporarily close because it had six feet of water in the basement. The Long Island Museum's collection survived the storm, but its workspace was a different story. The Long Island Museum says it is looking at least $100,000 worth of damage. We have received reports that the gallery basement has been flooded due to recent heavy rains before our September Outdoor Show. This has resulted in substantial damage to the local cultural and historical buildings, as well as their valuable collections. I am saddened by this news and hope that the restoration efforts will be swift, allowing us to once again bring joy and hope to the community through art.
