This year is a very special year for me. I am preparing a revised version of Hello, My Robin, the first picture book I published through Amazon. This book is more than just a creative work; it is a chapter of my life and a bridge connecting children and nature. When I first wrote and illustrated the picture book, I was learning as a writer and as a mother. I worked every day, thinking about how I could truly reach children’s hearts and what kind of illustrations could comfort children’s emotions. That is how Hello, My Robin was born. Story in the book: A healing story told by a little bird “Hello, My Robin” is the story of Robert, a boy who was bullied and became addicted to games, confined to his home. His only friend in his loneliness was his computer, but one day, a small miracle comes to him. It is a family of Robins who built a nest on his window. Robert watches Robin’s eggs hatch, the chicks grow, and the parent birds help them fly every day. The process of life shown by nature, parental love, and moments of growth help Robert regain the courage he had forgotten. He also opens the door and prepares to come out into the world. But just like that, the birds fly away. Looking at the empty nest left behind, Robert feels a sense of loss again and locks himself in his room. But the story does not end there. Little by little, very slowly, Robert gains the warm realization that “Robin is always with me in my heart” and takes the first step toward independence. Comforting nature captured in hand-painted watercolors All the illustrations in this book were hand-painted in watercolors. I believe that the delicacy and warmth of nature expressed through the spreading and overlapping of paints are emotions that are difficult to capture digitally. I wanted children to feel the colors and emotions together through picture books. A total of 15 illustrations depict Robert's emotional journey and the cycle of nature. Spring buds, life in the nest, flapping wings, and the return of silence. I put my heart into each scene. Why a revised edition? As time passed and I opened the book again, I noticed some shortcomings and thought of scenes that I wanted to improve. I wanted to refine the details of the pictures, the flow of the text, and the final message to make them a little more profound and stable. In this revised edition, we are focusing on improving the following areas in particular: Unifying the page layout and improving the print quality Adjusting the sentence rhythm to suit the age of the readers Strengthening the connection between scenes so that emotional changes can be felt better Adding discussion questions that can be read with parents We are putting our heart and soul into this book, hoping that it will be a warm friend who sympathizes with children's emotions. Robin in Our Hearts The core message of this book is, “Robin in our hearts is always with us.” Even if we can’t see it, nature is something that heals us and gives us courage. And sometimes, a small bird can make a big difference in a child’s heart. Hello, My Robin tells the story of such magical moments in nature. I hope it will be a book that children and parents can read together and have warm conversations about. Publication Schedule & Please Wait Like a Gift The revised edition is currently in the process of adjusting the layout and supplementing the final illustrations. It will be available again on Amazon in late spring or early summer. I hope this book will be a small gift from nature to those who loved the first edition and to those who have not yet met Robin. Over the years, I’ve published more than ten books on Amazon. Each one has been a unique journey of its own. But no matter how many books follow, there is always something special—and a little bittersweet—about the very first. My first published book was Hello, My Robin, a watercolor picture book about a lonely boy and the healing power of nature. At the time, I was just beginning my publishing journey. Since I was unfamiliar with the process, I entrusted much of the formatting, uploading, and editing work to a publishing service. While this helped get the book out into the world, I’ve always carried a quiet sense of regret. Looking back now, I realize I wish I had done everything myself—down to the smallest detail. That’s why I’ve decided to create a revised edition of Hello, My Robin—not just as a technical update, but as a heartfelt renewal of my original intentions. The Power of Doing It MyselfAs I gained experience in self-publishing, I gradually took on more responsibilities in each book I created—handling layouts, editing, and illustrations personally. With every new project, I learned what makes a book feel whole and thoughtfully made. And with that learning came the growing urge to revisit my first book and give it the care and polish it truly deserves. The revised edition of Hello, My Robin is not just an update—it’s a transformation. I have carefully reworked several aspects of the book to make it more engaging, cohesive, and emotionally resonant for readers. What’s New in the Revised Edition? 1. Refined Illustration Tone The watercolor artwork has been retouched with consistent tones and warmer hues. I've enhanced key scenes so that the visuals better reflect the story’s emotional journey. 2. Improved Writing and Flow I’ve revised the text to improve pacing and clarity. The storytelling now has a smoother rhythm, making it more enjoyable for children while preserving the depth of the original message. 3. Thoughtful Visual Effects and Layout Certain scenes have been reimagined to better highlight Robert’s emotional growth and connection to nature. The layout has also been adjusted for better readability and visual balance. Why This Matters So Much to MeHello, My Robin was created with deep sincerity. It tells the story of a boy who, after being bullied, withdraws from the world and finds unexpected healing through the presence of a robin family nesting outside his window. It’s a quiet tale about recovery, loneliness, and rediscovering joy through small, natural wonders. Because this story means so much to me, I want the book itself to reflect the care, growth, and clarity I’ve gained since I first published it. Every page of this revised edition is being handled with love and intention. A Book That Continues to Grow Just like Robert in the story, I too have grown since Hello, My Robin was first released. And just like the robins who come and go in the book, this story has remained close to my heart, quietly encouraging me to keep creating and sharing. The revised edition is my way of honoring that journey—by offering readers a richer, more polished, and more emotionally immersive version of the original. I hope it continues to bring warmth and inspiration to children, parents, and anyone who finds comfort in the quiet beauty of nature. Thank you for supporting my work and walking alongside me on this creative path.
