​With just a paper plate, a magic mirror, and a small LED light, you can create a wonderful and magical art project with your children. This project goes beyond simple crafting and combines science activities that teach the principles of light reflection with creative art.

Children will draw their own pictures and experience the "Infinity Image" effect, where the image appears to repeat endlessly.

​Project Supplies

Two paper plates

A magic mirror (a translucent mirror with about 30% transparency)

A regular mirror or reflective film

A small LED light

Thin black paper

Tape or glue gun

Art supplies such as markers or acrylic paint

Scissors or cutter

​How to Make

1. Drawing on a Paper Plate

First, let the children draw whatever they want on the front of a paper plate.
Any theme is fine: space, the ocean, animals, abstract patterns, etc.

Punch a circle in the center of the plate to create a window.

2. Attaching a Magic Mirror

Attach a 30% transparent magic mirror inside the hole.

Unlike regular mirrors, this mirror reflects some light and transmits some. This is crucial for creating the infinity effect.

3. Making the Second Plate

Draw the same circle in the center of the other paper plate and attach another mirror.

These two plates will later be attached facing each other like a seashell.

4. Adding an LED Light

Insert a small LED light between the two mirrors.

The reason why light is important here is this:

As light repeatedly reflects between the two mirrors,

the light image gets smaller and smaller, appearing to extend endlessly.

Through this principle, we can naturally experience the scientific concepts of light reflection and transmission.

5. Creating an Infinite Image

Draw a picture or pattern you want to create infinity on thin black paper.

Simple shapes like stars, dots, lines, and small windows are especially effective.

If you attach this paper to the inside edge of a mirror, the picture will repeat itself in the mirror, creating a fantastical effect that appears as if it were a deep space.
