Painting in the Woods — and an Exciting Exhibition at the Reboli CenterThis past June, I had the wonderful opportunity to participate in Gallery North’s 21st annual Wet Paint Festival, held on the scenic grounds of the Merritt Hawkins Homestead and Nassakeag Elementary School in Setauket. Surrounded by trees, birdsong, and the soft sounds of summer, I immersed myself in plein air painting — capturing the light and feeling of the forest in real time. Today, I received some exciting news — a photo of me painting during the event was featured on Gallery North’s official Instagram! According to the post, each participating artist will have one finished painting exhibited at the Reboli Center for Art and History in Stony Brook Village from July 8 to 13, 2025. There will also be a closing reception on Saturday, July 12, from 1:00 to 4:00 PM with refreshments. No reservation is needed, and all are welcome to attend. This exhibition feels especially meaningful to me. The painting I created that day holds the light, color, and quiet rhythm of the woods — and now it will hang in a space where others can experience that moment, too. If you're nearby, I warmly invite you to visit. It's a beautiful chance to see what local artists have created directly from nature, and to celebrate art in its most immediate form. -- 📍 Exhibition Details Location: Reboli Center for Art and History, Stony Brook Village Dates: July 8–13, 2025 Closing Reception: Saturday, July 12, 1:00–4:00 PM (No reservation needed) For more information, visit gallerynorth.org. * Related article: https://tbrnewsmedia.com/pleinly-a-fun-time-at-gallery-norths-21st-annual-wet-paint-festival/tbrnewsmedia.com/pleinly-a-fun-time-at-gallery-norths-21st-annual-wet-paint-festival/ Discover my experience painting en plein air at Gallery North’s 21st Wet Paint Festival in Setauket.
