Our Treehouse poster from Emma Clark Library. This October, my work is being exhibited for a month at the Emma Clark Library in Stony Brook, New York.
The exhibition is titled Our Treehouse, and it represents much more than a personal showcase — it is the first collaborative project of Mom’s Playground, a book club formed by artist- and writer-mothers who share a passion for creativity, education, and community. The picture book Our Treehouse was written by Emilia Zielinska-Bien and illustrated by Myungja Anna Koh. The story symbolizes the world that children build together through imagination and cooperation. The treehouse is not only a place for play; it represents connection, understanding, and the growth that happens when people create together. This exhibition presents the original paintings from the book alongside related works, expanding the book’s warmth and message into a visual experience. In my paintings, created with acrylic and watercolor, I try to capture the invisible energy and rhythm that flow through nature and ordinary objects. Each brushstroke becomes a way to express what cannot be seen — the harmony, vibration, and quiet power that surround us. I believe that art is not merely a visual outcome but a living bridge between emotion and the world around us. The works featured in Our Treehouse were born from that same current of feeling. This project holds special meaning for me. It allowed me to step beyond my individual role as an artist and explore collaboration as both an educator and a mother. The process of creating Our Treehouse was, in itself, an act of art — a dialogue among mothers and children, where imagination and compassion built something tangible together. The exhibition poster, beautifully designed by the gallery curator at Emma Clark Library, captures the warm colors and spirit of the picture book. When I first saw the poster, I felt as if the treehouse from the story had come alive within the gallery space — a quiet symbol of the joy and creativity we hoped to share. The Our Treehouse exhibition stands at the intersection of art, education, and community. It is a celebration of imagination, shared effort, and the unseen energy that binds us together. I hope visitors will feel the warmth, wonder, and cooperative spirit that inspired this project. The picture book Our Treehouse is available on Amazon, and selected original paintings from the book are on view throughout the exhibition. A few of the images for the exhibition poster were provided to the gallery, and if additional materials are needed, I am happy to share them anytime.
