Our Treehouse – A Special Exhibition by Artist MothersThese days, I’ve been immersed in final preparations for an upcoming exhibition at our local library in November. As I lay out the paintings on the floor, I reflect on the creative journey that brought me here — the people I’ve met, the stories I’ve shared, and the new opportunities now unfolding. This exhibition holds a very special meaning for me. A few years ago, I had the chance to showcase my artwork as an artist at the Emma S. Clark Memorial Library. That exhibition opened the door to meaningful conversations with children, parents, and fellow lovers of the library. Thanks to that connection, I’ve now been invited back — this time not only to display my illustrations but also to present the picture book I wrote and illustrated. The November exhibition is titled “Our Treehouse”, and it’s more than just an art show. It’s a shared story. Along with a few dear friends, I created a group called Moms’ Playground — a supportive space for mothers who are also writers and illustrators, raising children while nurturing creative lives. From this collaboration, we published our very first picture book, and this exhibition will celebrate both the book and the vibrant creative force behind it. Like the title suggests, Our Treehouse is a place of imagination and belonging — a cozy world built high in the branches, away from the noise, yet deeply rooted in our everyday lives. As mothers, we often walk a delicate line between care and creation, between home and self. Through this exhibition, we hope to share how those everyday moments with our children become inspiration — transformed into stories, colors, and dreams. The greatest joy in preparing for this show has been the realization that raising children is not a hindrance to art, but a powerful source of it. I hope that this exhibition brings warmth, encouragement, and a sense of possibility to many families in our community. And if even one visitor walks away thinking, “Maybe I could do something like this too” — then I will feel this project has truly succeeded. Please come visit our little treehouse this November. You'll find paintings, stories, and the heart of a creative journey shaped by motherhood and imagination. Discover “Our Treehouse,” a heartfelt art exhibition and picture book presentation by Moms’ Playground—an artist collective of mothers balancing parenting and creativity. Opening this November at the local library.
