First illustration for Mom's playgroundThe first illustration for Mom's Playground's first book, 'Tree House', has been completed. This year, I created a children's book making club called Mom's Playground with my talented friends Emilia and Prelia. And the first illustration for 'Treehouse', written by Emilia, was completed. This book takes young readers on an exciting journey through the process of building a tree house—an adventure that captures the dreams and fantasies of childhood. But beyond just a step-by-step guide to constructing a tree house, this story offers a deeper lesson. It’s designed to show children what’s truly important along the way and to help them understand that dreams require effort, patience, and commitment to bring them to life. The tree house becomes a powerful metaphor for any goal or aspiration a child may have.
The idea of a tree house is appealing to almost every child. It’s a secret hideaway in the branches, a place to play, imagine, and feel free. But while children may have vivid dreams about such a house, they may not fully understand the work and dedication involved in creating it. Similarly, when children set big goals or imagine their future dreams, they often lack an understanding of the real steps and challenges required to make those dreams a reality. This book was created to help bridge that gap, showing children that achieving a dream is a process that includes planning, teamwork, perseverance, and adaptability. The story unfolds in an engaging way, guiding children through the various steps of making a tree house. It starts with the initial excitement of the idea—picking out the perfect tree and imagining what the tree house could look like. Then, it moves on to the more concrete steps: gathering materials, building a strong foundation, learning to work with tools, and addressing unexpected challenges along the way. Each step teaches children that while dreams are exciting, they also require effort and resilience. One of the key lessons in the book is that while goals can feel like they’re high up in the treetops, they’re reached one step at a time. Just as in building a tree house, achieving any dream requires putting in the groundwork, seeking help when needed, and learning from mistakes. The book uses this relatable metaphor to make the process of achieving dreams understandable and manageable for young readers, showing them that with dedication and a willingness to learn, they can bring their own dreams to life. In addition to the practical lessons, the book emphasizes the joy of the journey. Working together, solving problems, and watching the tree house take shape are all part of the excitement. The story encourages children to celebrate these smaller achievements along the way and to appreciate the people and experiences that help them reach their dreams. Ultimately, this book is about more than just building a tree house. It’s about helping children understand the steps to reach any goal and showing them that dreams are achievable with patience, persistence, and a bit of help along the way. Through relatable storytelling and charming illustrations, the book will offer both inspiration and practical wisdom, inviting children to see their own dreams as tree houses just waiting to be built. I am excited to post my step-by-step Mom's Playground project, like building a treehouse.
