Daily Art, Watercolor Postcard DrawingOn special occasions like birthdays, we often send cards to share our feelings. Personally, I bought and used these cards before I started this project as an artist. However, many of them ended up being thrown away because the messages and images on the cards started to feel repetitive. I realized that creating my own paintings could create more meaningful connections with others, so I started making watercolor postcards to capture the beauty of everyday life. It’s like keeping a daily art journal. I named this adventure “One Day One Art” and it brought me immense joy. Watercolors provide a wonderful way to quickly express inspiration with their clarity and beautiful depth. Creating watercolor postcards can be a fun hobby that you can pursue right from your desk at home. Sharing your own handmade cards can sometimes convey feelings more powerfully than words, because paintings can be a powerful means of communication. When we have a birthday or something to celebrate, sometimes we write cards to comfort or express our feelings. Usually, if you are not a student taking an art class at school, you will buy these cards from Amazon, Target, or Walmart. I am an artist myself, but before I started this project, I bought them and used them. However, at some point, the text on the cards all felt the same and the pictures on the cards started to feel common.
So, the countless cards that were thrown away felt like a waste. However, at some point, when I drew pictures myself and delivered them, I realized that we could have more conversations with the other person. Sometimes, even conversations were not necessary. I got the idea from this and started drawing watercolor postcards to find the beauty of everyday life, just like writing a picture diary every day. And I named it One Day One Art. In fact, this work brought me great reward and joy. Just invest 30 minutes every day to draw a picture. If you are starting to learn watercolor, it can be a great practice. Watercolor is a wonderful medium that allows you to express your inspiration in a short time with relatively transparent and beautiful depth. Create watercolor postcards with this watercolor as if you were writing a picture diary. It will be a wonderful hobby that you can start right at your desk at home. And convey your feelings with a card that you made yourself. I believe that sometimes pictures are the most powerful communication tool than words.
