Congratulations! Save the Frogs contest winners with my students! The 2023 SAVE THE FROGS! Art Contest received 1,842 entries, from 1,681 participants in 69 countries! One of my students, Olivia, was selected as a finalist. And Cindy, Yueer Sophia and Joyce were selected as semi-finalists. Congratulations everyone! Being selected among 1,842 works from 69 countries in an international competition is something to be truly proud of. Some of my students' works were not selected. But regardless of the outcome, we know the joy of drawing and showing our work to the world, and we enjoy the task of drawing.
Thank you once again for the hard work and effort of young artists who are passionate about art itself.

If you're not prepared to be wrong, you'll never come up with anything original." by Sir Ken Robinson. The quote "If you're not prepared to be wrong, you'll never come up with anything original" is often attributed to Sir Ken Robinson, a British author, speaker, and international advisor on education. Sir Ken Robinson was known for his views on creativity and education, emphasizing the need for a more creative and personalized approach to learning. The quote suggests that a willingness to take risks, make mistakes, and be open to the possibility of being wrong is essential for fostering creativity and originality. It encourages individuals to embrace uncertainty and not fear failure, as it is through experimentation and learning from mistakes that truly innovative ideas can emerge. Even when I draw or teach someone else, I find myself afraid of making a mistake or being wrong, even though the canvas is not a Math test paper with right or wrong answers. Why are we afraid of making mistakes? Why do we have shame about not being able to do something or failing? Why are you afraid to try something? If someone has the mental immunity and tolerance to overcome these mistakes or failures, that person can certainly be called a successful person. This means that it is difficult to admit one's shortcomings and enjoy being wrong and making mistakes. We seem to be too strict about mistakes. I often experience students looking at me with great anxiety when paint splatters or a strong line stains an otherwise beautiful painting. In such cases, I say this. “It’s okay to be wrong. Mistakes create more artistic expressions.” That’s why I encourage my students to make mistakes often. Mistakes, failures, and being wrong create a spirit of experimentation, so the more you try, the more really good things come out. Although we may always want to succeed, win awards, stand out, be famous, and receive praise, it turns out that these things only make up a tiny percentage of our lives. And the rest are primarily complete failures. Instead, accepting these failures positively and developing mental immunity is more critical. And the most important thing is to love something and enjoy it so much that you don't even notice failure. When you reach that point, you realize that even other people's praise or recognition no longer matters. This is because you are already receiving a considerable reward from your heart. The prize is from yourself. In fact, if you know it, admitting that you are the best is more difficult than anything else in the world. Because he knows himself very well. One's inner thoughts, background, experiences, weaknesses, and strengths...the person who knows all of these intimately is 'oneself'. Therefore, when I try to accept myself, I immediately become tolerant of my mistakes. You will have the courage and passion to take on many challenges. There is no need to become great or famous to have this kind of courage and passion. If you become famous, it would be a good thing because it will be a reward, but if you achieve it by lying and not being able to acknowledge yourself, you will never get great joy. It will be nothing more than a mirage. Therefore, we realize what a precious gift it is to have courage and passion. Even today, you may be upset by failures, mistakes, and mistakes. Whenever that happens, think about how without this, you will live in boredom without new challenges or passion. Take out the canvas again and boldly create a large dot. And look at it and say: “It’s okay. This point looks like a big universe!” I think perhaps our life is a process through which art realizes the principles of the universe. Top 10 Skills Children Learn from the Arts
* Reference: https://uskidsmags.com/artcontest/ Top 10 Skills Children learn from the Arts. The five creativity techniques specifically applicable to art.Collage: Collage combines various materials, such as paper, fabric, photographs, and found objects, to create a new visual composition. It encourages experimentation, as you can mix different textures, colors, and shapes to generate unexpected and unique artwork. Blind Contour Drawing: Blind contour drawing is a technique where you draw an object or subject without looking at your paper, focusing solely on the contours and details of the subject. This technique helps to train your observation skills, promotes unconventional representations, and can lead to intriguing and abstract interpretations. Color Exploration: Challenge yourself to explore different color palettes and combinations you wouldn't typically use. Experiment with complementary, analogous, or monochromatic color schemes to evoke different moods and emotions in your artwork. This technique can spark fresh ideas and push your creative boundaries. Found Object Art: Found object art involves incorporating everyday objects or materials into your artwork. Look for interesting objects in your surroundings, such as natural materials, discarded items, or even pieces from your own household. You can create unexpected and thought-provoking pieces by repurposing these objects in your artwork. Artistic Prompts: Use artistic prompts or constraints to stimulate your creativity. These prompts can be specific themes, concepts, or limitations like time constraints or material restrictions. Working within these parameters forces you to think creatively and find innovative ways to express your ideas. Remember, these techniques are meant to inspire and stretch your creative boundaries. Feel free to adapt and combine them to suit your artistic style and preferences. Embrace experimentation and allow yourself to explore new possibilities through your art.
